Affirmations - Anxiety & Panic, daily affirmations and panic disorder help
Panic disorder though believed to be an illness; it is related to self
confidence of the person. When the self confidence is very low, such kinds
of fearful thoughts can arise which leads to panic disorder finally. Hence
it has been recommended to use affirmations as one of the treatments for
people affected with panic disorder.
In fact, affirmations can be the most powerful tool to overcome panic
disorder in spite of the drug option. Panic disorder cannot be cured irrespective
of how much and how long the person has been on medication if the person
does not use affirming himself.
Affirmations do not only boost the self confidence of a person but also
it enables the person to achieve the goal. Affirmations can be used in
various aspects of the life of a person. It is the reflection of a person
of how he wants his life to be.
For those people, who are unaware of affirmations, it is a statement that
a person needs to repeat to himself again and again till it gets embedded
in the sub conscious mind and develops into a belief.
The method how to do this is
1. Think of something real which you wanted to feel like and achieve at
the end.
2. The words you think must contain only the positive sense. This step
is very important.
3. The positive words should reveal the present and not the future.
4. Though you do not believe it initially, you will believe it in the
end. So this does not matter. It will certainly turn into a belief.
5. Word that is not allowed to be in an affirmation sentence is anxious.
Since this is what we are trying to avoid from the start, no negative
words or negative feelings are allowed to be in the sentence.
6. It is better to avoid even the word “NO”. Many people initially plan
their statements as “I am no longer anxious”. But this is not the right
attitude. No negative words should be placed in the affirmation statement.
If included, it will not be effective.
7. The statement must be short and come to the point straight. It should
not include long sentences or words. This will confuse and mess up the
whole concept. It will also take a longer time.
8. Write out the affirmation in a piece of paper or make up your mind
to follow the affirmation at all costs.
9. Concentrate on one statement until it is achieved before going on to
the next. This will give you faster results than expected, since your
whole efforts and mind is towards achieving that single goal.
10. It is highly recommended to repeat the affirmation statement again
and again and as frequently as possible. A frequency of hundred times
a day can easily be caught up. If it is even more, it is good.
11. Do not lose your determination. Though the results cannot be achieved
instantly, patience and determination can lead your path easily and quickly.
It is really worth in the long run.
A good illustration of an affirmation statement in the case of Panic disorder
is “I am strong, I am healthy, I am happy.” This is very effective along
with the prescribed medication.
