Panic Disorder life style, home remedies for panic disorder, natural cure remedies
As for many diseases, panic attacks also have some home remedies. Though
these remedies may not work for everyone, many people with panic disorders
at least are able to reduce the severity of the pain during the attacks
with the help of home remedies. Similar to migraine, the home remedies
for panic disorder are exercising, deep breathing, dietary changes, self-taking
techniques, aromatherapy and massage.
Panic disorder is characterized by the main symptom of panic attacks.
This disease is fairly common that nearly one in every twenty people seems
to possess the disease varying from mild to severe forms. The panic attacks
in different people may occur over different ranges from a few minutes
to an hour or even more.
The sufferer is often subject to continuous fears and anxiety and their
body also responds by increasing the levels of neurotransmitters like
adrenaline, shortening of breath, increasing heartbeat and an upset stomach.
Skin sensitivity and hyperventilating are found commonly.
Exercising daily has proved to enable the sufferers cope up with the attacks
a lot better than those who exercise occasionally. Deep breathing calms
down the problems arising due to hyperventilating and rapid shallow breathing,
which follows the panic attacks.
Dietary changes especially include the avoidance of caffeine found in
beverages like soda or coffee or tea. This is believed to reduce the chances
of the occurrence of a panic attack. Lack of vitamin B-complex or calcium
or magnesium is also thought to trigger panic attacks. Make sure to consult
a dietician regarding the dietary requirements.
Self-taking techniques have also been good choices for some of the sufferers
in minimizing the pain and severity. For instance, the sufferers constantly
remind themselves that they will be soon all right during an attack. Though
the sufferers know that they are to have the attack, this idea will soothe
their hearts and feel calm and be in control.
Aromatherapy is a method in which the sufferers are allowed to smell cool
and pleasant aromas which will instill pleasant memories in their minds
and hence have a calming effect. Massaging the neck and the throat is
also found to ease the pain since these areas become tensed at the time
of the attacks. But this has to be done by a professional.
Hence it is possible to manage the symptoms of panic disorder by following
some self-caring steps like
• Adhere to the treatment plan.
• Facing the fears though difficult can ease the pain and calm the mind
in an effective manner.
• Join a club or group that supports people facing panic disorder or other
anxiety disorders. Likewise, the person may be aware of all the existing
problems and gets to know the methods or ways of how to deal with each.
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, drugs, etc which can initiate or make the pain
even worse during the attacks.
• Practice all stress management techniques.
• Relaxation techniques like meditation and yoga can also help a lot.
This must be done through proper guidance.
• Exercise daily and keep the body active because the aerobic activity
can calm the mind and keep it in peace.
• Proper rest is a must. Sleep well and enough such that there will be
no drowsiness.
